School Counseling and Social Work: The counselors and school social worker are available by email and can set up times to talk to you or your child. We are happy to communicate via email or a live video chat platform. They are not accessible 24/7 so if you have an emergency please call 911. The counselors will also be either reaching out to your student or send information via email or messenger so please have your child watch for those as a way to keep in touch.

    Contacts:

Mental Health Emergency: In the event of a mental health emergency, please call 911. The Crisis Mobile Response Unit is also available to triage mental health emergencies and that number is 844-274-7472.

Counseling: This time can be frightening and unsettling for both kids and parents alike. If your child is in need of therapy, our school based mental health therapists are doing tele-counseling and we are still able to make referrals. If you would like your child to start seeing a therapist, please email the school counselor or social worker. There is also support for children and their parents available through Olmsted County at 328-6400, ask for Youth and Adolescent Services.

Family Services Rochester offers tele-counseling for both kids and adults. They can be accessed at 287-2010. This would be a good option for family counseling also. They accept most insurance programs and have a sliding fee scale.

Zumbro Valley Mental Health Center is also accepting new clients and serve both children and adults. They are doing both phone and video therapy and counseling. You can fill out a referral online or call them at 507-289-2089.

Many other local therapists have also moved to tele-therapy, please call the agency of your choice to ask for more information.

    Google Classroom Guide for Families

Below, you will find a brief presentation explaining Google Classroom for Families. We hope this helps provide clarity on this commonly used platform.

    Video Conferencing

    Google Meet Etiquette

     Google Meets

During our  E-Learning time, your child's teacher may offer "live" Webinar sessions using Google Meet. This will be a chance for your child to connect with the teacher, ask questions and see classmates. We see this as a valuable tool to allow your child and teacher the ability to maintain their relationship and enhance learning.

The teacher will record the sessions and post to their class platform (Google Classroom or SeeSaw) so that if a student in the class cannot attend the session, students could view it at a later time.

For students with district-issued iPads, they will need to download the app from Self Service and login with their Byron email.
