Principal Durnen's Welcome Letter
Welcome to the 2022-23 school year! Byron Primary School is an educational community that encourages student growth and development by creating students of integrity. It is an honor to represent Byron Public School’s vision of creating a community of learners dedicated to making the world a better place.
Through integrated strategic practice, Primary School students will experience the 6 C’s of Byron’s Profile of a Graduate: character, citizenship, critical thinking, communication, creativity, and collaboration in a safe and welcoming environment.
Building relationships with families is a personal priority. Parents establish the foundation of early learning by modeling, encouraging, and leading by example. Successful schools develop when school and home, work together to build meaningful and respectful relationships. Please stay connected and informed throughout the year. Collaborating through this impactful journey will be essential!
An amazing year of learning lies ahead! Please reach out at any time as I look forward to connecting and creating positive relationships with all of you! Go Bears!
Warmest Regards,
Amanda Durnen

Parents/Guardians of students who fail to report their child’s absence or tardy will be called at home, work, or other numbers provided.
If prior notice (note to the teacher or phone call/email to the office) is not given, a written excuse from the parent/guardian is required for absences/tardies and must be brought to the office upon returning to school, stating the date(s) and the reason for the absence.
Students arriving tardy to school (after 11:00 am), will be marked as a 1/2 day absence. If a student is absent during the school day, they are not to participate in evening activities (concerts, etc.).
