Registering for Preschool
2023-24 Preschool Registration Information

Registration opened on February 25, 2023 for the 2023-2024 School Year.
In order for your child to begin Preschool on the first day of school - September 11 - you must complete ALL Preschool Registration steps on or before Friday August 11, 2023.
The following classes are full (updated May 12):
- M-F AM
- Preschool Plus AM Preschool/PM Child Care
- M/W/F AM
- T/Th AM
The following classes are nearing capacity:
- M-F Full Day - 1 spot left!
- M-W-F AM 3 year olds - 2 spots left!
- Preschool Plus PM Preschool/AM child care - 3 spots left
- NOTE: if you need before or after-school child care, this is the ONLY section left with capacity for Teddy Bear Child Care Care
- This is also a great option for students who do not need afternoon rest time.

There are several steps to complete your child's registration for preschool. Instructions on how to complete these steps are included in the drop-down menus below. Click on each topic and follow the directions.

Online Registration
This is a step by step set of instructions to complete the Online Registration for your child at Byron Public Schools!
Be sure to select the 2023-24 school year and Preschool as the school. This option will be available on February 25th.
Step 1:
Before you begin please gather the following:
- Household information: address and phone numbers
- Parent information: cell and work phone numbers, email addresses
- Student information: health and medications
- Emergency contacts: phone numbers (minimum 2)
- Preschool registration: birth certificate and completed Immunization Form or a copy from your medical provider
Step 2:
- Resident Families who are enrolling first-child Begin Application Here
- Existing Families enrolled at Byron Public Schools who are enrolling a new child Follow Here To Parent Portal Link
- Non-Resident families who are enrolling first-child Begin Application Here
- Please note that enrollment in Preschool does not guarantee enrollment in Kindergarten. Non-Resident Families must submit an application for open enrollment for Kindergarten.

Step 3:
- Once your application has been submitted for enrollment into the Byron Public Schools, a staff member from the school will review and approve your application.
- Watch your EMAIL for further notifications. (Also check your spam box if you have not received an email after you begin the process)

Set Up Class Registration Account and Pay $35 Registration Fee
If you do not already have a Class Registration account with Byron Community Education, please use this link if you need instructions to create one. Please be sure that your new preschooler is listed on your account.
After you have completed the following items (below), you will receive a Preschool class placement notification email with information to complete the enrollment in Class Registration.
- Online Registration in Infinite Campus
- Submitted recent Immunization Record and Birth Certificate
- Set up Early Childhood Screening date if you have not yet completed a screening for your child
- Completed the online Class Preference Form
- Pay $35 Registration Fee

Early Childhood Screening
Every preschool student needs to have an Early Childhood Screening completed (within 90 days of starting Preschool). Click here to learn more about screenings and how to set up an appointment if your child needs one.

For Students Receiving Special Education Services
If your child is receiving early childhood special education services, you will need to complete the following registration items:
- Online registration for the 2023-24 school year (see instructions below)
- Consult with the Early Childhood Special Education team to determine class options for your child.
