The World’s Best Workforce bill, passed in 2013, strives to ensure every school district in the state is making strides to increase student performance.

Each district must develop a plan that addresses the following five goals below. Please click on the yellow bar to expand our plans for each goal identified.

Students are ready for school upon entering Kindergarten

SMART GOAL: In the spring of 2024, we will maintain 95% or greater of all students enrolled in Byron Preschool will meet all 6 of the end of year expectations as measured by the Widely Held Expectations Report on the GOLD assessment and will be considered “Kindergarten ready."

SMART Goal: By the spring of 2024, 70% of K-3 students will reach proficiency benchmark as measured by FAST: fluency (CMBR) assessment.

Communicating clear proficiency benchmarks for end of year proficiency
Creating an instructional framework that outlines instructional expectations
Creating clear and focused End of Year Expectations
Developing a data infrastructure so teachers have easy access to the data they need to make instructional decisions

SMART GOAL: By the spring of 2024, 40% of all students assessed will have met CCR benchmarks in all four subject areas as measured by 2024 ACT.

Students graduate from high school

Maintain at or above 98% of eligible Byron High School students will receive a diploma from Byron Public Schools as measured by the 2024 Graduation.
