Funding Requests
The Byron PTO accepts funding requests throughout the school year. Funding request monies support:
- Activities involving Byron Public Schools children.
- Activities or programs that have an educational or community benefit.
- Supplies or activities that support the Byron Public School district.
Byron Public Schools administrators, teachers, and staff may submit funding requests via the online submission form. Submitted funding requests will be reviewed at the monthly PTO meetings during the general membership portion of the meeting. Those requesting funds from Byron PTO must have an applicant or delegate in attendance to represent their request.
Funding requests must be submitted by the last day of the month prior to the next scheduled general meeting to be considered for approval (i.e., a request submitted for approval at a December meeting must be submitted by the last day of November).
All funding requests must be reviewed and approved by the principal of the requester. Exception requests are at the discretion of the executive board and may be reviewed and voted upon outside of regular meetings.
Byron PTO has funded the following during the 2023-24 school year:
- Primary school nutrition curriculum in discovery class
- Kindergarten registration "swag bag" (prize drawing)
- Kindergarten cooking
- I Love to Read Month
- Transportation for 2nd grade MN Zoo field trip
- Transportation for 4th grade Quarry Hill field trip
- 5th grade Pride Tiles
- Books and furniture for MS library
- Physical Education curriculum
- Middle school outdoor sports equipment
- High school senior class trip
- High school "Real Care" babies for Child Development class
