At Byron Public Schools, we believe student participation in extracurricular activities will build positive character traits such as; effective communication skills, selflessness, self-discipline, work ethic, teamwork, accountability, persistence, sportsmanship, confidence, respect, honesty, and leadership that will prepare them for lifelong learning.

24-25 Transporation for Activities:

Byron Public Schools is finding it difficult to hire and retain certain positions within our school district. One of these positions is transportation drivers. We are able to maintain our routes to and from school, but we are not able to transport athletes to practices and home games that are played off site. Brad Hak, Byron Activities Director, and the coaches have worked to explore possibilities; each of which present their own set of challenges. We will continue to explore opportunities and reassess transportation on a regular basis.

With that said, we have yet to find a viable solution for the 24-25 school year and it will be the responsibility of each family to provide transportation for their student(s) to practices and home games off site. You may set up carpools or arrange rides. Coaches cannot organize transportation. We know this will be difficult for families and we apologize for the inconvenience. As stated, we will continue to explore solutions.
