Spring 2019 Black and Gold FUNdrive Fact Sheet

The Byron Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) raises funds to support activities for all four schools in the district, including field trips, activities, curriculum and equipment purchases district funds do not cover.

The Byron PTO Board has received feedback from parents regarding the best time for a fundraiser.  Based on the feedback, the Black and Gold FUNdrive will flip flop to the spring.  The goal is to raise enough to fund requests through to the 2020 FUNdrive.  The funds raised are allocated through a formal review process and approved by the Byron PTO Board.

Dates

April 23 – May 3, 2019 (Envelopes Due May 3)

Who is donating?

Each BPS, BIS and BMS student will be asked to bring home an envelope and an email will be sent district-wide asking for donations from each student/family.  Students are to please return the envelope with or without a donation to be included/counted towards class participation.  BHS parents/guardians will receive an email

Families are not obligated to donate.

How much?

Any amount is welcome, and the goal is $17,000.

Should students go door-to-door to ask for donations?

Going door to door is what we are trying to avoid for parents and students.  We know there are so many other things we ask of our friends, neighbors and family members.  However, it is not restricted and families are welcome to be creative to contribute to the FUNdrive.

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes, we do allow for donations online, via the Byron PTO Facebook page, or website under the Parents/Guardians tab on the district website.  Checks are also accepted and can be made out to Byron PTO.  Cash is also welcome.

Are there prizes this year?

The incentive is not to raise more money than others, the incentive is for all to participate to keep contribution needs low.  We will draw randomly for prizes from the returned envelopes.
